REQUEST A CAMERA

District: Bradford

Road No. Location

clarkson street ravensthorpe please put a camera up on clakson street just before the turn onto field lane theres been a lot of crashes and kids play there, cars drive fast.
wibsey park ave is there any thing that can be done to reduce the speed of cars and motor bikes. car speed alone this road day and night and there is a park next to this road i am not to sure if there as any one been run over before but it will happern if there is nothing do about this
Bolton Road Speed Cameras located at the 30mph area between the bottom of Peel Park and Shipley Airdale Road. Cars are always too fast past the Gudwara and houses.
Halifax road please consider speed restrictions from the cross roads round about to the sugden end tip as cars accellerate from the roundabout round the corner which has caused many accidents from people pulling out of bingley round as its a blind corner.
Orchard Grove I would like to request cameras or measures to slow traffic down on our street. I am aware from other residents that a child has been killed on this street and several hit by cars speeding and using our road as a race track! they cut through from Harrogate road to avoid all of the traffic and even though it is a built p area with alot of children they go so fast it's frightening.
Thornton Road Would you consider raising the speed limit on Thornton Road back up to 40mph (but 30mph by the school)? When the cameras were added it was reduced from 40 to 30 even though the houses are a long way back from the road. The new cameras that were fitted recently on Highgate are still at 40mph even though the houses there are much nearer to the road than down Thornton Road. I'd be interested to know why the road was not lowered to 30 like Thornton Road was.
Bolling Hall Road Could speed cameras or road humps be introduced along Bowling Hall Road in East Bowling, Bradford 4. It is used by many vehicles are a rat run/short-cut into the city. There is a school near-by and elderly locals who are in danger from the traffic.
Rooley Lane Could cameras be installed along the section of Rooley Lane, Bradford between the Dudley Hill roundabout and Asda roundabout. Vehicles speed along this section late into the night and are both a danger and nuisance to locals.
Wakefield Road Could cameras be fitted along Wakefield Road, Bradford 4 between the Dudley Hill roundabout and the roundabout close to Usher St. Cars speed along the road late into the night are a danger and nuisance to locals.
a65 A65 from Burley house roundabout up to Endor Crescent turn off.
A650 Drighlington Bypass A650 between A58 Whitehall Road and A62 Geldard Road. There have been multiple deaths/accidents on this section of road. Motorbikes also seem to be using this section of road as a testing track especially on weekends. It is only a matter of time before more accidents/deaths occur.
Manningham Lane/Keighley Road A650 We need speed cameras along the A650 from Manningham Lane to Frizinghall (Keighley Rd.) as cars routinely drive very fast along this stretch, particularly between Queen's Rd. and Emm Lane.
76, Park Road Traffic travelling at high speeds down Park Road, Bingley between Villa Road and the junction with Beck Lane. This is happening constantly and despite the new traffic island installed by the Council, this has made no difference except that it is now more like a chicane for motorists travelling at high speed. There will be a serious accident before too long

District: Kirklees

A644 Huddersfield Road, Battyeford, Mirfield Please replace the speed camera which was in place but then burnt down. There are speed cameras on this stretch of road but the missing camera is in an area between John Cottons and The Pear Tree pub where speed occurs and cars brake sharply to avoid accidents when turning off the road. The post and markings are still there, just no camera.
Lees Hall Road Safety camera needed. Accident here tonight. Drivers racing down a residential road, ambulances and fire engines present. Cars parked down one side of the road so that there is only one lane yet drivers still try and squeeze two cars through. Don't want my children to be killed before a camera is put in place!
New Hey Road At least one Speed Camera on New Hey Road. This Road alone has one School and one College both having over 3,000 Students. There is also a Shopping Centre on this Road. This is the Main Road in and out of Huddersfield. There has been Many Signs Put up Saying that it's a 30 Zone and a New Traffic Light Crossing put up. Despite this a Person has Died in a Hit &Run and the Driver that was believed to be travelling at Speed Sped of in broad day light and the Driver has Not been Found 8 Months Later.
Westgate, Cleckheaton Could you look at placing either static or mobile cameras on Westgate, Cleckheaton. Vehicles travel at excess speed in both directions the whole length of Westgate between Waltroyd Road and Crown Street especially passing Foxton Dies opposite Nutter Street. There are some nasty bend on this stretch or road. Pedestrians and other road users using Westgate are being put at risk.

High Street, Hanging Heaton High Street in Hanging Heaton is used as a high-speed rat run by drivers looking to save time travelling into Dewsbury and Batley. It is a narrow road yet vehicles use it at speed simply to save time. I myself have had a driver write my own car off whilst he was travelling at over 70mph on a 30mph road at 5pm on a Friday evening. The road is dangerous, yet nothing has been done.
Low Road Thornhill Edge Would it please be possible to have a officer with a radar gun to attend site on Low Road and emphasise the 30mph speed limit. Cars howl along this road which is very popular with walkers and dog owners. Also residents are often not clearley sited when leaving their premisis and consequently near misses with the local youths are becoming a common accurence. You can even park in my drive if you wish.
savile road there are alot of speeding motorists, aswell as a high risk of accidents as young children cross the road to get to the playing field
Roberttown Lane There is 1 high school, 1 private dat nursery & 1 pre school sited on this road yet still it seems to be used as a short cut by commuters 7 HGV's to avoid the A62 and not many drivers seem to obey the 30 miles per hour speed limit. There is just 1 pavement & currently the road is being resurfaced. The layby used for the school buses seems to be the turning point for boy racers to use as the race circuit. Surely this road would benefit for some kind of traffic calming
wakefield road, lepton to grangemoor fixed speed camera at the juction of wakefield road and paul lane. fixed speed camera on the brow of the hill near the white house pub lepton
Cross Lane HD4 A speed camera to be positioned on Cross Lane Primrose Hill
Bradley Mills Road The road as a whole has had 2 deaths in the past 10 years that i have lived here but at the Junction of Bradley mills road and Holays there is a minor accident every week although the police are rarely called. We have had a pedestrian crossing put in further up the road but our road is a short cut and cars fly up and down here at all times of day. The road is extremly busy when there is a Huddersfield Town football match on as the Stadium is at the bottom of our road. Even the buses fly up and down this road and it's only a matter of time before someone else is killed or seriously injured. I feel that if we were to have speed camera's then it would be a safer road to live on and less accidents. Something needs to be done. Councillor Peter Mc Bride knows about the problems on this road but Kirklees Council refuse to do anything.

Pool Bank New Road Permanent Safety Cameras be installed on Pool Bank New Road as I am concerned for the safety of my family due to speeding motorists
a58 whitehall road a58 from drighlington crossroads towards leeds we have had one death in the last month iam not sure of anyothers but cars come down this road at about 70mph and i have seen cars try overtake and end up on the paths on several occasions also we have a lot of porche and sports cars test drive from the garage on the ring road on this streach of road as they can drive fast
LEEDS - BRADFORD ROAD - BRADFORD - LEEDS ROAD DAWSONS CORNER TO THORNBURY ROUNDABOUT I live on the main 6 lane road between Dawson Corner & Bradford Thornbury large roundabout. Here this road is being used as a race track for individuals with noisy modified exhausts who like to race around and around the 6 lanes at high speed with disregard to other persons & drivers safety, under cutting other cars in lanes to race each other, oblivious to the traffic light signals often going through on red. I walk and cross these 6 lanes - leeds-bradford - bradford - leeds road up to three times a day dog walking and at the lights 1 out of 3 times a driver will not stop at the lights and continues at high speed through them. The death rate may well be low on this road but soon bunches of flowers tied to the traffic signal railings may well be there for me. I ask you why has this road NOT GOT CAMERAS - The average speed limit on there will be 60 - although it is supposed to be 40mph. I challenge you to film / monitor speed & crossing safety there during the hours of 6-7pm any day SEE HOW LONG YOU LIVE !!!
A639, Barnsdale Road To place a speed camera on Barnsdale Road Methey, between Methley Junction Bridge and the junction of Green Row on the East bound, and before junction of Green Row on the West bound side.
New Road, Yeadon / A65 Numerous minor accidents and noise nuisance caused by speeding traffic on A65 between Gill Lane and Whackhouse Lane.
stanningley road Outside my house is a road which reminds me of a question i keep asking myself, "why the f**k does'nt this road have a speed camera??" Everday There are cars overtaking at high-speeds. There are cars commenly seen taking the-piss of the speed limit which is a 40mph road, not just taking the piss with maybe 10mph over but speeds i hear and see around 60-80 and sometimes plus! Theres alot of youth racers that go crazy on this stretch of road. I have had two dogs that were ran-over by cars that were doing over the limit. (I know dogs are not so road aware but I'm just stressing a point). In the time i have lived around here i have heard of many crashes on the road too. I think because the drivers know theres no site of anyone watching there speed, and it's a long stretch they just can't help but put there foot down. Can't really moan more than this so i'll just leave you with this -GET A FKN CAM ON STANNINGLEY ROAD!! (I know it's a long road and i don't know how to refer to the point of the road which needs one placing, but my house is ls13 3eq opposite "west leeds industrial park") Thanks
A658 A658 is a 30mph limit towards Leeds Bradford Airport, from Yeadon, going to a dual carridge way under the runway, most motorists ignore this 30mph limit and the side of the A658 past the industrial estate is a 50mph limit, tonight I have had 3 motorbikes race past at 70+ on the double white lines and box markings to separate traffic, the road dips and bends towards the traffic lights for Carleton/horsforth.
Trying to turn right out of glenmere mount to go towards rawdon is a nightmare due to the straight length of victoria avenue after the lights at the junction of layton lane and high street.
A658 Pool Bank Has Pool Bank been assessed for safety cameras? There always appears to be a high volume of speeding traffic. Thanks

HENCONNER LANE FIXED OR MOBILE SPEED CAMERA

District: Wakefield

Road No. Location

Minsthorpe Lane There are currently 3 cameras on Minsthorpe Lane near the high school. My request is for 1 camera at the opposite end of Minsthorpe Lane as motorists travel at significant speeds and on the bend (opposite Harrow Street) there is a school crossing for the primary school. I live on the bend and a trailer has come off and knocked down two people serioursly injuring them and the trailer went through my fence running into my house, I am scared for both my family and others. I don't know of any fatalities but am unable to understand why a fatality needs to happen before action for a speed camera is taken. I am willing to film motorists as at least 70% exceed the 30 miles per hour limit. I look forward to hearing from you.
Walton Lane I am aware of one serious accident since I moved into the above address this year involving a motorcyclist and a car. There may well have been others. My house overlooks Walton Lane at the area where it splits into 2 carriageways briefly. Vehicles of various sorts regularly drive at high speed down this length of road. Several roads including my own lead out onto Walton Lane, and I am concerned about the risk when exiting onto the main road. The vehicles also create significant noise when travelling at high speed. There should be some sort of speed restriction in place to minimise the risk.
A638 Would it be possible for mobile cameras to be used between Towers Lane and Cock and Crown public house as there have been numerous collisions resulting in serious injury and unfortunately fatalities. It is my belief many of these could have been avoided if motorists travelled within the speed limit. It may take the threat of cameras to help to reduce the number of casualties.
A637 Barnsley - Huddersfield Road There are a few yards where horses are kept on the A637 Barnsley to Huddersfield road, this is a 40mph speed limit with a 7ton weight limit, however people travel much much faster and HGV's travel down this road. This is getting dangerous as people (including children!) are getting clipped by cars passing too close and horses are being spooked by cars and vans and busses and lorries passing too fast. I have had someone crash into me because they were travelling too fast down this road when I was waiting, and signalling to turn into the yard. It is becoming very dangerous as it is a straight road.
A639 Hardwick Road For safety cameras to be installed from the top of Hardwick Road (30) to East Hardwick (50 into a 30). Numerous accidents have occurred over the years on this stretch resulting in death and serious injury which have included motorbikes and HGV's. From entering the 40 zone to the 50 zone there has been a flashing sign installed asking motorists to slow down, however this has no impact and motorists continue to drive at high speed right up to the 30 limit heading towards Pontefract town. Those doing the speed limit are often overtaken if the oncoming lane is clear. I've witnessed many motorists about to make a right turn into housing estates only for them to be overtaken resulting in near misses. At least twice in the past 2 years this road has had to be shut from the railway bridge to East Hardwick due to accidents. The area surrounding this road in the 30 and 40 limits is a residential area. Crossing the A639 as a pedestrian can be risky, especially for the elderly as speeding motorists make it nigh on impossible at times. Motorists have no respect for the speed limits in this area and this is shown when an accident occurs. I'm sat here waiting for the next one. A flashing sign isn't doing much good and there is no police presence so the only decent thing would be to install safety cameras to ensure this road will suffer fewer casualties in the future.
Ackworth Road A628 Request for a speed camera on the A628 Ackworth Road between its junction with Hardwick Road (A639) and Tudor Close. A flashing 30 sign has had no effect on traffic speeds, accidents and the daily danger to pedestrians of crossing this busy main road. It is a death trap in the making.
wakefield road wooley cross roads notton cross roads notton cross roads . wooley cross roads notton wakefield .these are two areas in wakfield that need to have some action taken . begause the loss if life is shocking
M63 J32A sliproad between M62 and A1 This stretch of road frequently has speeding motorists on it, and very rarely does anyone take notice of the unreasonable 50 limit on this road. With the winter approaching, there are likely to be accidents on this stretch, and it will also increase your revenue, which is the real reason for cameras on the motorways.
Castleford Road (poss. A655) Castleford Road is the busy main road linking Castleford and Wakefield passing through Normanton. Despite a by-pass cars use this road as a race track/shortcut. Apart from a very slight deviation as the hill starts it's dead straight from the M62 to the crossroads by Normanton Police Station approx 1½ miles. The council have installed traffic islands at regular intervals to protect pedestrians trying to cross the road. Cars regularly travel far in excess of the 30mph speed limit set on the road and there have been a great many accidents due to the number of side turnings and obscured vision created by parked cars. I don't know the exact casualty/accident figures but would consider them to be very high. There have been a lot of accidents where impatient drivers have pulled round buses which have trouble stopping due to the parked cars and the fact the road is quite narrow because of the parked vehicles. The traffic starts around 5am in the morning and now as I write this at 22.45 the cars are still thundering past. Perhaps a mobile camera/Police check would ascertain just how much of a problem there is here. There is a large public park opposite and a school at the lower end of the road and a lot of takeaway food shops all contributing in their own ways to the danger. As a man who drives for a living I would say that this road is long overdue for some kind of electronic speed management and I would have thought the Police given their proximity to the road would have pushed hard for this.
Barnsley road would it be possible for a fixed or mobile camera to be sited on barnsley road, although,to the best of my knowledge, no fatality has yet occurred here it is only a matter of time before it happens.
