Every day, we are approached by concerned individuals, community groups, local councilors, residents and neighbourhood representatives, to ask if we can help improve local conditions by setting up safety cameras.
In all cases, we will see if the roads concerned meet the Government's criteria for the installation of fixed or mobile cameras. If they don't, there may be other solutions that we can point to, or we can put people in touch with other organisations that may be able to help.
SCaN is the quarterly newsletter that brings you up to date with what's happening to make local roads safer.
You'll find news and information about initiatives in road safety and casualty reduction, not just in West Yorkshire but also across the UK... even across the globe.
You'll read the latest expert opinion and advice to help you keep yourself and your loved ones out of harm's way on our busy streets.
More than that, though, SCaN is a way for you to have your say. We welcome your letters, views, comments and articles.
Why not join the "family" of SCaN readers today... and help make the roads and the communities where you live safer and better places to be?
We are concerned to hear from anyone with a view on speed control safety cameras and road safety. It is only with consensus that we can move forward in reducing road deaths and injuries. Whether you agree or disagree with what we're trying to achieve, it does matter to us and we must find a way to debate the issues fully. That is what we are trying to do with our various community initiatives, with the information we issue and with this website.
